BLACK LIVES MATTER is not a phrase foreign to our creative, emotional and spiritual universe. What this movement represents has had a lot in common with the foundational concept of our record label and from which we have created a sound universe for the joy and reaffirmation of our identity.
Just as we did with previous releases #Afrorazones, #Afrosekuela #Igboro #OWU #BAKOSO and many other projects, today we continue to raise our fists with “Te lo recordare” produced by the Guampara Music studios. Authored by the young rapper Lando Lavarra, and inspired by the years of suffering and slavery that have been subjected to the blacks, Lavarra creates a deep message in his lyrics that embraces the accompanying music in perfect harmony.
With shared musical production: Lando Lavarra / Dj Jigüe, Piano and keyboard: Victor Benítez, chorus: Sigrid Armenteros and Mojugbacion: Mandy del Guaso, “Te lo recordare” is a heartfelt reflection that returns to a disastrous past, remembering the mistakes of humankind that need to stop and never be committed again in the future.
The single is accompanied by a simple but very sober video, made by Ained Cala/Dj Jigue with support from FistUpTv.
lyrics
They took us out of our lands
They hunted us with assault rifles
They imprisoned us with chains
And they put us on a boat.
They made us row to death
Under dire punishment
And all those who were thrown to the sea,
In one jump.
On the land they sold us
Thousands of families separated
They violently subdued, humiliated and enslaved us.
Many of our children died
Many of our mothers cried
Many sisters were raped
And many brothers were slaughtered.
They made us deny my culture
And they separated us from faith
They made us deny our history, our figures and our Asé.
As they knew we were many
They disguised our hearts
That we were all fighting for a cause
But it was for their reasons.
They occupied all the seats
Main business owners.
The best lands remained.
And the wages were not the same.
They made a false testimony that spoke of equality, liberties
They put it on paper
Then they swore
But it was all in vain.
Because they excluded us, they discriminated.
And it was all legal.
Because they chased us and stalked us.
And it was all legal.
Because they trampled and degraded us.
And it was all legal.
Killed in non-existent ways.
And it was all legal.

(BRIDGE)
I will always remind you
Black Lives Matter.
I will always repeat it to you
Black Lives Matter.
How the sun matters
How air matters
Black Lives Matter.
As it also matters that we both are alike
Black Lives Matter.
How the sea matters
How the heavens matter
Black Lives Matter.
(CHORUS)
Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter.
I will always remind you
I will repeat
And I will shout it
(is repeated)
(FINAL)
If they don't understand that we are all a species
That we are all a race.
So I have to make things very clear.
If there was ever an Eden, it was in Africa.
If ever there was an Adam and an Eve, they were black.
If there was a descendant of the ape.
So that was black.
My people did not leave the place where they were born and mixed them with who knows what.
My people remained pure of pigmentation and connected to the land.
So our skin
Our teeth
And our hair
They are so special.
